There it lies
Prostrate
Upon the ground
Broken
Its frail neck
Shattered
By misguided flight

There it lies
Fluttering
Clinging to life
Vainly
Arching and raking
Sorrowfully
Doomed, after all

There it lies
Fading
Slowing until, finally
Numbing
One racking spasm
Ceases...
The life of a dying bird

I don't often write poetry, so I decided to try my hand at a serious poem...

Someone else sees beauty in things others find revolting! Finally! Wonderful!
